What are some video games with female main characters?

My wife likes playing video games, but prefers to play female characters; however, she wants to play games that are centered AROUND the female character, like Tomb Raider or Tenchu perhaps. That is to say, she wouldn’t play WoW because you can choose male or female, or rather more specifically because choosing a female has no impact on the plot.
Any suggestions? I’m not having much luck googling.

Oh yeah, there is metroid prime hunters or any metroid game.

Maybe X-Blades……
Quite good, maybe not the best, but the heroine is HoooooooooT…..

Moreover, i like Heavenly Sword…..

Also, try Mirror’s Edge, as the mate above pointed out, and
Blood Rayne has a female character worth seeing, but the game itself is average….

Have her try Final Fantasy X-2, the main characters are all girls. Yuna, Paine, and Rikku. She might like that one.

The harvest moon series is fun and addictive.
There are a couple with either a girl as the main character or a boy and some where you could choose between either. One thing all harvest moon games have is farming (yeah, it is kind of funny) but it’s actually deeper than that; all title have a different plot (even if you could choose between characters, the townspeople might answer/react differently to you or there are more/less features for you), like in one game you’re aim (other than having the best farm/ranch ever)
is to try and attract people to live in an abandoned island and in another is to try to fight monsters and tame them along with trying to figure out why they’re creating such a fuss (and still maintaining your farm and growing strawberries-lol)
