One thing a lot of people find themselves screwing up and doing while leveling is fighting mobs that are higher level than them. Even equal-level mobs aren’t really worth fighting! You get slightly more experience, sure, but these mobs are almost exponentially harder to fight; they have more health, hit harder, and are more likely to dodge/parry/be missed by your attacks! So stick to mobs that are lower level than you are; grind or instance a few levels if you have to.

Minimizing downtime is another secret to quick leveling. This means you need to use mana and health-conserving tactics. Casters, use your wands! Hybrids, use melee specs! And if you are losing health quickly, start using crowd control abilities such as stuns and snares. If you are losing more than 15% of either to a single mob, you are probably doing something wrong.
