Since Rock Band first hit the stores two years ago I have been one f its biggest fans. I will sit for hours at a time playing the songs again and again as I try to get them perfect.

Two years after BioWare unleashed Mass Effect comes the second part of the planned trilogy, Mass Effect 2. Another FPS style addition is that your health gauge regenerates over time while you are behind cover and are not being hit. In Mass Effect most players would commit themselves to a single weapon and put gained experience towards it. This is resolved with the new ammunition system and the removal of weapon specialisation and skill; you can now freely use different weapons in changing circumstances with no loss of skill. You own personal skill defines your combat skills. This makes gun fights a lot more enjoyable and less repetitive. You can now scan unexplored planets for resources; these are then used to upgrade your weapons and armour. Your ship, the SSV Normandy SR-2, can also make use of these resources in its on-board research system.

Mass Worlds - BioWare have a good history of creating rich detailed worlds full of stunning creatures and characters, each one with an in-depth back story and purpose. Each member of the elite squad that you assemble are of interest and are fully fleshed out. Living, breathing worlds have been created and are more exciting and believable than in the original Mass Effect. Passers by get involved in conversations with each other, your squad chats to each other, discusses problems and interacts on many levels.
